Yorkshire_Zed
Ive just purchased a 370z,i love the car - the only thing thats worring me is this loud metallic rattle when i pull on ff in low revs in 1st or 2nd - its fine after around 1k revs. I cant hear anything rattling or loose underneath. I contacted the previous owner and they said its single clutch conversion kit, that’s the noise it makes from dual mass to single mass clutch kit. Is that likely what it is? I have read on another site that its probably that - to do with an aftermarket flywheel. It does sounds pretty rough in my ears, but is it something you just put up with? Edit - sorry i posted this in the wrong forum hehe. Edited June 26, 2023 by Yorkshire_Zed wrong forum
MONKEYSOCKS
Could be the heat shields on the cats? But I have heard that single mass flywheel can chatter a fair bit too. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon.
leebottrill
Could be the thrust bearing or the single mass (if you have one) does it rattle when stationary? If so does it disappear when you put the clutch in? If so it’s either of the above potentially.
Coz@TORQEN
As above, 100% the single mass flywheel, they have a bit of chatter when idling or at low RPM's. Nothing wrong with it, just a little annoying if you're driving it daily.
