colinpal
Hi all, I had a Scorpion Exhaust with rolled tips fitted yesterday by my local power flow exhaust specialist. It looks and sounds lovely. However when I got home and inspected, some of the joints are leaking water/moisture (hard to tell if gas escaping). I see exhaust paste has dripped all over the place. I am taking it back Monday for them to rectify. Is this normal for new slip joint exhausts? Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any advice for when I take the car back to the exhaust specialist? Thanks Colin Edited January 13, 2023 by colinpal
ZMANALEX
If the flange faces are all flush and you fit proper new gaskets then you should not require any paste. and providing the pipes which are clamped are uniformed and clean, then you should not have any leaks, Pretty basic stuff actually. Never had a fitment issue with Scorpion, as decent quality compared to others.
HEADPHONES
Scorpion wouldn't offer lifetime warranty without being confident with their products. The fitter should get that rectified for you when you go back. My local Scorpion dealer is also part of the LONGLIFE custom exhaust group. When the LONGLIFE exhaust was blowing on my wife's car between the midpipe and midpipe resonator, it was fixed no questions asked despite the exhaust being fitted about 8 years ago as they said it had a lifetime warranty . Ps. I went for the same exhaust and the Scorpion y-pipe a few years ago too Edited January 13, 2023 by HEADPHONES
HEADPHONES
Hopefully it's dry and not raining tomorrow and I'll get under my car and take a photo of mine at that same place behind the backbox

I will let you know how I get on. After reading around it might just be condensation around the joint and dripping off from vibrations and heat from exhaust but will know for sure tomorrow. I went somewhere that has a lot of great reviews. They only fit and fix exhausts. He had to a weld a new flange on the y pipe as the existing flange was disintegrating. The rest of the y pipe and cats were ok but we both agreed it was too much of a risk to attempt undoing any of the bolts to replace the y pipe in case it damaged the cats. davey_83
Looks lovely. When the time comes I can recommend an aftermarket y pipe to accompany the new exhaust, as the OE y pipe is meant to be restrictive.
colinpal
A quick update. Took it back to the fitter. There was a small leak coming from one of the joints. The clamp just needed to be loosened, rotated a bit and re-tightened and then all was good. Happy now
