Looked at some of the other suggestions like R8, Lotus and Vantage. But so far the Cayman wins, unless someone can recommend something else. Ekona Posted August 21, 2022 Share Posted August 21, 2022 I found my 997 to cost exactly the same as my 350Z, in terms of pure basic running costs (servicing, brakes, tyres, fuel etc). I can’t see a 981 being significantly more, however I wouldn’t run a PDK without the OPC warranty. Full video of work done and what needs doing. Tyres were 21 at the back and 20 in the front. I think they would be similar to Z bar the odd service and tires. Expand Just be patient and stay glued to AT and PH, one will crop up. I personally wouldn't get too precious about Chrono. I seldom use it on the PDK, Sport is plenty fast through the gears and the throttle map and shift points are fine, unless you really want to go for it. When I am in that kind of mood, I want the paddles. A working PSE is a must though, watch for seized valves on the exhaust, I had to replace mine (£1200) as they were totally stuck and I was missing out on the noise - can't think of many better sounding OEM cars when you're giving it the beans.
