polaris
My mate thinks it's been in an accident. My other mate thinks it's just @*!# factory welds. Your opinion? Welds: Rust: Edited March 30, 2022 by polaris
ZMANALEX
Factory Welds. Rust acceptable until heavy corrosion takes over.

Does every Z look like this? 2 hours ago, ZMANALEX said: Rust acceptable until heavy corrosion takes over. Would you say poor condition for a 2008 50,000 mile 350Z or is this pretty standard rust? ZMANALEX
Your car is 14 years old and they do tend to rust, I have seen some much worse. Factory Welds on rear subframe. However I have plenty rear subframes in stock if you would prefer to swop it out.

Would you recommend getting the car undersealed with something like Dinitrol? Edited March 31, 2022 by polaris
evilscorp
That rust isnt bad, but I would start to get on top of it, wire wheel and then usual underbody treatments. however I would probably take the braces off and get them powdercoated for better protection. As for the subframe its totally normal for a blind man with no care for how much filler rod to have done the rear subframe. They are alu so as long as there are no cracks its fine. You dont have the same problem as old s-chassis with steel subframes cracking the 350z one is beefy enough. davey_83
+1 that rust doesn't look bad at all and its present on easily removable chassis braces. Front subframe I would look to treat however and of course spend some time on the arches.
