Tomato
Quick question, the HR 313 version on the 350z, I hear the early ones had some issues? Seen a convertible one local which will go and have a look around, anything specifically to look at apart from evidence of regular servicing etc.
Tomato
Ps are they worth a premium? Car is a 07 plate Edited December 10, 2021 by Tomato Typo
Roscoe
HR is worth the premium in my opinion. Better engine, gearbox than the DE’s. Interior on 06 onwards was also slightly improved. Look out for low oil pressure on warm idle. Anything lower than about 25 psi would be signs of the gallery gaskets failing (common issue for the HR engined cars and early 370z)
Tomato
Thank you, seen today and drove impressed. How long would you expect the gallery gasket to last from new, this one has done 87k, is the fix the 9 hours job?
ZMANALEX
I have seen Gally gaskets fail at 40,000 miles, so 87k is good, however, when the time comes fit upgraded gaskets. Also CSC failure is another issue which can happen without warning. Both jobs are circa 1k including parts.
Tomato
Thanks, think going to take the plunge, will get a mechanic to do a full assessment. All looks straight to me, and the test drive put a smile on my face.
