nixy
I have put the free version of AVG onto my pc as it's recommended as one of the best. However, it keeps scanning everytime I first log on and so it slows everything down. I can't work out how to change it, does anyone else use it? stuey
thats how antivirus works................ it reads everything first............ the only way to speed it up is to remove it....... you shouldnt need anti virus unless you go on dodgy sites........... Chris`I
1.Double click the icon in the task bar (yellow, black, green and red square) 2.Select "Scheduler" from the list and click "Scheduled Task" button at the bottom 3.Select "Test Plan in Basic Mode" and "Edit Schedule" button 4.Untick "Periodically start scheduled antivirus test" 5.Click OK, close, close to get back to desktop. steve3000
I've just been tearing my hair out at AVG! Why does it insist on reminding me to "upgrade to version 8"...not when I switch the computer on, but half way through an epic Civ IV game online, causing the connection to drop (arg!)... Rant over Other than that it's fine, and yes, set the scan for early hours or once a week/month/year and it'll be a lot less intrusive. Been using it for must be 5 years now, no infected PCs, but plenty of nasties caught by it
