SAFC99 Posted April 29, 2008 Share Posted April 29, 2008 I need to top up my oil but dont know what type of oil is in already, does it matter if i put different oil in ie synthetic into mineral or vice versa or a different grade. Cheers for any advice! Should not matter, i think most oil does mix wether it be synthetic or mineral. Probably best the next time you change the oil to know exactly what you have in. As Oilman has finally put to rest, thsi is not the case at all and you can mix oils. Stew Posted April 29, 2008 Share Posted April 29, 2008 To be honest with you I'd just drain it and do a filter change while you're there. Won't cost too much and you know it's good!
