Jacko
I was down the local Tesco the other day and there was one of the vans from this company there so I picked up a leaflet..... Has anyone any experience of these (good or bad)? Seems a little bit too good to be true? I've got two or three stone chips on the edge of the bonnet that I'd like to sort but bit concerned about the results? http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/repair/index.asp
Space Cadet
I've had good and bad results from Chipsaway, I know this isn’t going to help, but it really depends on the colour and the area of the car, for example silver on the corner of a bumper is fine and you wouldn’t know the difference, but black on a flat panel and it stands out a mile. I actually had a bit to touch up on my Z's rear bumper (Kuro black) and the Chipsaway guy said that it couldn’t be done as well as a Z warranted and that I should take it for a proper re-spray. He obviously did himself out of a few quid, but I suppose gave him a trustworthy name in the process. On the other hand, another guy came out a while ago on a Golf and it didn’t look 100% (because of the location), I obviously wasn’t happy so he gave me my money back, realistically he should have known before hand whether it was going to be OK. I'd definitely say give them a call and they should come out and give you a quote; hopefully they will be trustworthy and tell you if it can be done. If you are a fussy about your Z as I am of mine, I’d go for a proper re-spray though.
stevie_350z
I have a 3-dot mark on the driver door, where a bloody stone hit me on the motorway. I'm taking it to the dealer see what their bodyshop laddo thinks. I'll let you know how I get on!

M13KYF
I've always had good results with them on the previous car. It was a guy in Leeds though. Chipsway is a franchise so I think it's alot down to the individual and not the company. Don't forget you can get further discount with your AA card from Chipsaway. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... chips+away
gasman
I would agree with Mike it depends on ther chap you get. But I'd disagree with Space Cadet. The chap I had said dark colours were the easiest and he very successfully removed a key scratch from my rear wing (kuro).
Chesterfield
Do these people do door knocks too? I have a little "ding" in mine where some arse has opened the door onto the side of the Z and dented & scratched it.
Paintshield
Do these people do door knocks too? I have a little "ding" in mine where some arse has opened the door onto the side of the Z and dented & scratched it. Try Dent Wizard or Dent Magician for dings and knocks you can usually find them in your yellow pages or on the web, some chipsaway guys do handle dents but IMHO its always best to use a specialist for any particular job:) Cheers Tom
Chesterfield
Thanks. I'll look into them. I do want a good job doing so probably best to speak to the pro's in that area. Also, when I first bought the car, there were a couple of bad scratches on it and the dealers body shop made a fantastic job. So much so that I have washed the car and inspected it from a distance of about 6 inches, and still cant see where they were. Perhaps they could do it? Ill get a photo up of the damage and see what people think. I have no experience of chipsaway or dent wizzard etc, but my Golf has a few bits that could do with attending to, and the Z is strting to pick up a few chips, and this nice dent/scuff.
