vroom811
So, a common fault that likely has affected us all at some stage is the problem with the boot not opeing properly. The helper springs wear out so the boot lid doesn't open enough. Nissan wanted £105 for a pair of new springs but @Sim posted about upgrated springs from OpenTop for only £45 so I gave them a go. They are very strong. Not used them that long but so far they work very well. You do need to give the lid a bit of a slam so it closes properly. Maybe they are too strong! I'd imagine if you had a large spoiler on the boot they'd still work. I've made a video to show how they work and how to fit them. 4
msitpro
They are good aren't they! No need to slam with my rear wing
Chris Wilkins
I bought a couple of new springs for my new 350z, but after installing them I don't get it popping anywhere near what it does in the video, so a little bit disappointing. What I am doing wrong? Pic shows new spring.... Edited July 12, 2021 by Chris Wilkins
HEADPHONES
I think yours are the OEM NISSAN ones whereas the OP has fitted uprated French aftermarket ones from the link he's posted on his YouTube video.
Yoshi
I'm just here to say your videos are great. Used one recently to service my car. Keep it up the good work! I do need to replace my boot springs so I might have to give these a try.

HEADPHONES
Just ordered a set of these French springs as I'm already in 2 rubber washers in each OEM spring and I'm now needing THREE clicks to open the boot Thanks for the video and the link
