Lynchyy
Anybody got any tips to diagnose this? The feed going into the front wipers is not getting any water. just wondering before I start stripping the car down if there is a common problem? bluethermal
If the pump is running then its the one way valve.
ATTAK Z
Let's assume you've filled the system to the brim ?
Lynchyy
Yeah system is full. I haven't checked the pump runs actually. Great shout.
marzman
Trace the pipe back from the bonnet spray jets to under the front windscreen cowl. There will be a Y shaped 1 way valve which gets blocked. I replaced mine with a Bic Biro pen lid for a fe months and it worked perfectly.
SHEZZA
Check that you can hear the pump running would be the first point of call I’d say, it’s behind the front right wheel splash guard behind the bumper.
Mikey_S
If you take the T pipes off the wipers, do you still get water out of them? When I refurbed my wipers the jets packed up, turns out they were full of crud so I spent a whole afternoon (really!) Pumping hit water through them with a syringe, blowing them through with compressed air and digging crud out with a stripped down paperclip Worked perfectly after that
Lynchyy
Thanks for all the info. Looks like its a pipe blockage from the pump to the front screen, as ive swapped over the rear and front tube at the motor side (so technically when i press the rear, it should now operate the front) but it still doesnt work. Tried to blow compressed air back through the jet and no bubbling at the tank. I will buy from wash piping and re-route i think.
bluethermal
If the one way valve is blocked swapping the pump feed isn't going to make a difference.
Lynchyy
Ahh ok. Thanks for the info. Where about a is the 1 way valve situated?
