Bunning
So a friend of mine is looking to buy his first Zed and has found the following one on ebay: 2004 Nissan 350Z , MANUAL | eBay I just wondered if anyone on here knows the car etc. I'm going to give him some pointers on what to look out for (having owned a DE prior to my 370Z) but it would be good if anyone here has actually owned it and can shed some light on its history. Any help appreciated. B
coldel
Its completely standard, so unlikely to have passed through here I suspect It doesn't even have a stubby. Otherwise given its age and miles check for all the usual stuff that perishes over time/use such as clutch, exhaust, anything made of rubber, rust etc.
pagan
On it's last but one MOT it had lots of advisories for corrosion underneath.
coldel
Oooo yeah, coil springs corroded all four corners. It says front sub-fame corroded but they could be referring to the W brace which always rusts and can be replaced. It also says Rear vehicle corroded as well. Then the subsequent MoT all that has gone away, worth checking to see how they repaired all of that
Bunning
Yeah I checked that too and have pointed it out to him! Shame he wasn’t in the market for one 18 months ago when I sold my 350.

Almost standard; there are random lights on the grille and rear parking sensors. The other thing I noticed was the cabletie by the airbox snorkle in the engine bay pictures - right behind the pipercross sticker. Worth taking a closer look at what's going on there too. There appears to be a random screw holding the front of the driver side kick plate down. And the handbrake needs adjusting. Minor things perhaps but does raise questions about maintenance for me. I remember clearly getting an advisory for antiroll bar bushes one year then nothing the next (I hadn’t touched them)
Willsy1980
Dodgy looking wiring running from the battery cover over the plastics and seals down under the airbox, no doubt related to the naff DRL install. Safe to say there will be better out there for that money.

Bunning
Thanks for all your replies, he's decided to give this one a miss after talking to the seller. If anyone knows of any (known good ones) up for sale do let me know
coldel
Could the seller not reconcile how an underbelly covered in rust is now completely advisory free
