Ceejay29
Hi guys, The protective corrosion coating applied to the rotors (believed to be that)....I’ve recently read that this should be removed prior to road use. I presumed the bedding in process would remove the coating naturally? Although it would clog up my new pads. Please could someone advise. Thanks Chris
Jack94
After you've touched the brakes a couple of times that coating will be all gone on the contact area, with no harm to the pads. Never heard of anyone removing the coating prior to fitment. Edited February 2, 2021 by Jack94
Ceejay29
Thanks, my thoughts exactly. How on earth would you even begin to remove it without damaging the surface.
Azurez33
I have drilled and grooved ebcs on mine, the instructions state nothing of the sort, they give you normal instruction to go easy for first couple hundred miles then do a few harsh emergency stops from about 60mph, should be in the instruction manual. 1
