Nino Posted February 2, 2021 Share Posted February 2, 2021 The red & black engine cover, I carbon skinned myself with carbon fibre fabric. There are companies out there that do it. But I thought I’d have a go myself and I’m pretty pleased with the outcome. I’ll have a go at the interior when I’ve got a bit more time on my hands. It’s just a wet lay up and left to cure a room temp. The heat from the engine shouldn’t be excessive enough to cause a problem. Expand Hi, this is the epoxy resin I used. https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/carbon-fibre-skinning-starter-kit They also have some good videos showing you how to use their product, on the site. There are also plenty of YouTube videos on carbon skinning. I’ve not heard of anyone using a lacquer for this. It’s only use would be as a final clear coat.
