I came across this earlier and thought a people might like to have a go 

 

I was going to buy a box for a few hundred quid 

Granted thats dedicated but this is another option

Just thought it may help a few out ive seen a few people wanting to do it 

And it costing a lot with the boxes 

 

I got half way there before but didn't do the bypass I know how now

I bought and installed the NiftyCity Apple CarPlay unit. Here is a link to it. Hopefully it will be helpful to have a look through.

 

I absolutely love it and its one of the best things ive done! It wasnt the cheapest though.

Yeah i saw this its definitely a more comprehensive solution 

 

But the Australian idea is good for those on a budget id say
