SCHIZOIDMAN
The previous owner fitted spyder DRL xenon headlights to my 04’ 350z. So my 350 passed its previous 2 mot’s but unfortunately failed this time on Headlamp Beam Projection is Obviously Incorrect. The headlights operate ok and the bulbs are lit ok. I removed the bumper and headlights, there was no loose cables / dirt moisture ingress and the ballasts and wiring looked ok. There is no obvious damage, scratches and the mounts aren’t broken and nothing has changed to my vehicle. I replaced the bulbs with 2 x D2R’s, refitted the bulb the correct way and ensured the bulb was secure in its latch. I took it back to the garage who advise the beam projection was very weak and adjustment wouldn’t solve it. Any advice or what else I should check? Should I just replace the headlights with OEM xenon 2nd hand ones? I assume it will be a straightforward swap- I’ve seen youtube videos on it.
