elninogrande
Hi guys, Booking my 350z for a P3 service at Japex. Ross had quoted £120 for rear brake pads only so I went online to check prices, saw there was a discount at autodoc and ordered 4 discs and pads all round for £260. Didn't even think twice about it but then Ross tells me (thankfully before I drove over) that they do not fit customer supplied parts as company policy (!). In his own words: "Yes I can book your car in for the service but unfortunately we have a company policy not to fit customer supplied parts, especially when it comes to brakes. The main reasons behind this is that we cannot fully guarantee the work, if they become noisy or fail to work at anytime then it can be debatable who or what is at fault. We have also had in the past wrongly supplied parts which cause the vehicle to be stuck on the ramp. Brembo brake pads that you get from some main online parts companies are not great quality in my opinion, they are a lot thinner than original Nissan parts and they do not come with the anti-squeal shims." I ordered the pads and discs using part numbers I got from this website! Aren't they the same parts that would get installed had I gone to a Nissan service? Has this been your experience also? Would be very grateful for your comments. Just FYI: £389 for P3, includes oil and filter, air filter, brake fluid, anti-freeze, gearbox and rear differential oil.
