HEADPHONES
I use the term cinema room loosely. It's just a room in my cellar with cheap carpet over the concrete floor. Brick walls concealed with unskimmed plasterboard. Half my equipment bought back in the 90s. I moved in 6 years ago. Got a bigger 55" TV and soundbar for the lounge and shifted all my AV gear into the cellar. Put the old 42 inch Panasonic plasma down there. Hooked up to Onkyo sr606 reciever BK Monolith Plus sub KEF Coda 9 fronts KEF Coda 7 rears KEF center Some inherited Q Acoustics 3010 middle surrounds (the old owner left behind in the kitchen enabling an upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1 ) Put some led strip lights in. Was like this for years. Then a few months ago I treated myself to a cheap 1080p £170 projector Apeman LC600 and £30 screen. The lighting hides a multitude of sins. With the main lights on it's like a drunk tart the morning after Anyway, unlike with the plasma, with the projector I couldn't have the led strips on during use due to light pollution. Even with all the lights off, the light from the screen reflected off the walls and ceilings washing out the screen picture. So I shelled out £20 on some matt black paint to turn it into a batcave. Below are 2 pics of the same image with original white walls and the new black. For £20 the improvement in the black levels on the screen are night and day. I've heard using black velvet fabric brings reflections down several notches more! Slowly going through my Blu-ray collection again and spotted this yellow 370 in F&F6
ATTAK Z
I always thought the 370 had a big arse compared with the 350, but that looks OK
Stutopia
Love what you’ve done, but that mass of exposed cables needs an enclosure!

zelda
Looks cool. Probably the black paint hides some of the cable a bit too. Is this for movies only or console gaming as well? I recently installed a load of Kef items into my lounge, but as they're quite discreet they won't pack the same punch as those floorstanders!

I have a mixture of T series and Ci series in wall and ceiling for stealth 5.1.2. Those R series are beasts! The Bounty Bar Kid
I've recently done my living room up with a new surround sound system. Definitely agree on the darker wall thing, so I'm going to change the bright yellow to a dark blue. zelda
Nice, are you using those upfiring speakers for atmos - How do you find them?

They work quite well. One of the first films I watched with Atmos made me think that the neighbours had dropped something on the floor above as the sound came from there. At first I was like wow, then I realised it was from the film , then a even bigger wow!

I've probably played ony PS3 for a total of 3 hrs in the past 12 months As for punch, the biggest impact has been the BK Monolith Plus subwoofer. Very solidly made ported 500w 12" sub Weighs in at 47kg. Made my old REL q200e look AND SOUND puny.

The Bounty Bar Kid
IMO projectors can't match a high end TV unless you go to the high end projectors.
