New Z confirmed by Nissan

People have mentioned the back, but many cars have a flat back like the R8, Jaguar, Ferrari, Aston. Not all as rectangular.

It was probably a choice between the red car (C-HR), the render with the modern 240 lights or this. 300ZX lights are a nice move away from boomerang lights which many didnt like. People wanted a modern 240z and here it is . This car will still break necks no doubt just like the 370 Nismo does.

Production ready model in Grey maybe.

I think it might just be orientation the grill might not be angular looking head on. Ill assume it is but even the current ZP looks a bit like that side on. Just the sides of the grill give the game away with the straight angle. I think they might do that for the Nismo version and a vent for brake cooling. Could also be an indentation like the current car.

Aftermarket will make a killing. Id have been drawing up aftermarket bumpers already and kits to go on the rear

Certainly the aftermarket are going to do really well on this model. Nissan seem to have helped as the car is so plain (in a good way) that it opens the door to cosmetic mods. Not sure how a rear spoiler will flow with the existing design though tbh Quad exhaust and new front end for sure

Edit: Actually I think the rear doesn't really work with that cut off gloss back diffusor section. It looks a bit off ?

The interior review was a bit dark couldn't see much. Will be a few years before can even think of getting this. The rumoured pricing is going to be high. Fortunately Japanese cars depreciate fast so we shall see. Id like to go to Japan and see it in the flesh and maybe test drive it.

I really think they should angle the grill a bit. The rear diffuser section with the black gives it a hatchback look. Anything there has to be done right or it will look off. Having it black is ok until the aftermarket can come up with something better. Thats also where license plates will go.

Due to the angle I think an extended M4 style lip would be better suited to the boot as opposed to a GT wing spoiler

after watching that spinaround video and this I get what you are saying now . Its not like a sqaure cut off but slanting forward somewhat. Perhaps the contrasting yellow colour draws even more attention to this. Might benefit also from a front plate splitting the front a bit more

Got this from NewNissanZ. These might be guesstimates, but whoever allowed them to put the car in-game delivered some estimated numbers!

The Nissan 400Z's horsepower number might have been revealed thanks to its addition on Project Cars 3.

According to the game it has 331 kW (443.8 HP) and weighs 1,475 kg (3251.8 pounds). For comparison the 2020 370Z produces 332 horsepower and has a curb weight of 1,512 kilograms (3,333 pounds) and the 2021 Supra (inline 6) has 382 horsepower and weighs 1542.22 kg (3400 lbs)

The Nismo may get 455-475hp not necessarily lighter. The M2 Competition with 430hp has around 406 ft lbs.

Apparently there will be noise restrictions in Japans cities. So a hybrid GTR may be a thing one day.

Looks ok, Grill and Handles have changed a bit along with the lip spoiler addition. I dont think its worth 50k though. It wont take long to depreciate 10-15k. We will probably see the first one here by next Spring.

Still no specs unfortunately

Louvers on this specific colour would improve the look. Theyve lost the side indicator lamp due to the Z on the rear side. The headlamps have been made to have a side profile.

Same here although Its not as dashing as the current 370 Nismo but It has a more european shape to it. Just the front is marmite for a lot of people.

We just need an unveil with specs and pricing. Even if theyre looking at12 months time to hit the dealers its still a good timeline for release.

Really hope the 443 hp and 1475kg rumour is true. Hopefully the Nismo will be around 475hp.

Apparently the car is being shipped to be part of a presentation so hopefully they release more details soon.

lol somewhat less mean than the 370. I hope the dash is a bit customizable and not just preset. Would be cool if you could move the nav to the dash like the Audis. I doubt it though. But should get the information needed.

Well looks like theres an expo coming up around August - September

The roof looks optional body coloured or gloss black. GTR brakes removed?

According to NewNissanZ forum they say there should be a reveal late summer.

New Rumours to be taken with a side of salt! Source claimed insider at New Nissan Z Forum

The grey car is an entry-level model, while the two-tone silver example is a Type T-equipped variant, both featuring automatic 9 speed gearboxes similar to ones used on other new Nissan models. A third production Z is reportedly also on US soil, equipped with a manual transmission and the Type S package. Apparently the 3 cars are being shipped to American Dealers for review before being given to the American press. Only 2 have leaked. A white Z is still under wraps.

Interesting info about Australia. Should Nissan Australia opt to bring in only the circa-US$45,000 (AU$59,000) Type ST variant, pricing for the new Nissan Z could start from upwards of $65,000 before on-road costs Down Under. Base model would be $52,000 AUD

The NewNissanZ post claims a choice of four Z 'variants' will be available, comprising the entry-level US$34,995 model, a pair of 'Type S' and 'Type T' option packages, and a fully-loaded 'Type ST' flagship.

Standard equipment on the entry-level grade will reportedly include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a widescreen infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Akebono brakes with fixed calipers, and the rear 'ducktail' spoiler first seen in leaked images earlier this week.

400Z name tag has never been confirmed so car most likely will be just Nissan Z outside Japan.

Horsepower unlikely to be anything above '400hp'. The Nismo the insider claims will be a lot more different than the 370GT to 370 Nismo.

The insider claims significant power hike and all wheel drive. A bit far fetched to be honest. Roadster or T top is still an option.

Release timeline is supposedly Q2 2022 after the Tokyo Motorshow. Starting US price of $34,000 up to $45,000 depending on trim.

$34,000 in US but probably higher in Japan as that price seems too good to be true. That would make it cheaper than a US Civic Type R ($37,000). Considering the price of the Supra stateside it should cost closer to 40k for base Z realistically. The top spec GT will most likely be around $45k which makes sense

Dry weight 3252 lbs

"this car really is a 370Z with a Body Kit and a VR30 Swap and the chassis was massaged.......heavily (more aluminum, more bracing, carbon fiber)" hence 1475kg rumours

  • Base: 0 options.
  • Type S: Brembos, thicker sways, coolers, other stuff.
  • Type T: Leather, Power Seats, Heated and Cooled, Auto cruise, blind spot, etc
  • Type ST: Both S and T Packages
  • Each package will be roughly 5k each, ST will set you back 10k

Base gets Akebonos, Sport or Nismo get the Brembos

All cars get...

  • The 400hp Flavor of VR30DDTT
  • The Digital Dash
  • Android Auto / Car Play
  • Rear Duckbill

Not confirmed but will keep an eye out from Nissan USA or US Press Release.
