Thanks guys.

@Andy_Muxlow The kit costs about £230. Its from a company called Workshop 12 in Canada.

The kit comes with everything you need. Loom with inline noise filter, Amp with 4 USB ports, Aux cables with ground loop isolator, tablet cradle and bezel. You have to supply your own tablet. I bought a used one from ebay for £100. My phone to creates a hotspot when im in the car for internet.

The guys were nice to deal with and helpful.

Update to the above: Clutch was slipping: As you can see here

So time for an upgrade!

I went with the JWT high clamping force clutch pack (1200kg Clamping force good for 600ft lbs of torque) and the 14lb single mass flywheel. (OE is 28lb dual mass).

Still bedding in, but the clutch pedal is actually alot lighter and has a strong bite and nice feel. Biting point is low at the moment.

Had an issue with the slave cylinder during install,  so will be replacing that and installing the stainless steel clutch line at the same time soon.

The kit was purchased from Torqen, who were very helpful as always. I used some RBF660 brake fluid too.

The single mass flywheel is noisier than standard as expected, but doesn't bother me at all, the added responsiveness is very nice. Will add more details once its bedded in ;)

Looking forward to some dry weather

@davey_83 Thats a good question. The short answer afaik is; The dual mass heavier flywheel is better at 'absorbing'  the transmission rattle caused by engine torque at low rpms.

So far i must say im happy with it. The pick up and responsiveness feels great, Car feels more urgent and lighter somehow. No real downside apart from chatter at low revs in high gears.

Fitted the braided clutch line and uprated slave cylinder (from Torqen). Clutch feels a little less spongy and more consistent feel/biting point going through the gears? Pedal feels a little heavier, but im not sure about that last one.

Also changed oil and filter, engine immediately sounds a quieter.

Also diagnosed a knocking noise, new passenger wheel bearing needed it seems.

Had wubwubwub noise that sped up with vehicle speed. I diagnosed it as passenger wheel bearing by jacking the car and spinning the wheels.

ax0v1f7.jpg

Fitted new one courtesy of Zman of course. Just tie the caliper out of the way.

image.png.ad9bfec7f235abde60c7e647351b988b.png

2 caliper bolts and 4 hub bolts. The bottom one is tricky, but unwinding a little lock allows you to get a socket on it

Not a particularly difficult job. No more horrible noise :)

Been a while since i updated the thread. Have done a few bits though.

One of which was attempt to sort a problem i had with one of the Depo headlights building up moisture, which im pretty upset about tbh. I decided to split and reseal in an attempt to fix, and while i was at it did a headlight mod i always liked.

Split using oven. (preheat to 120C, remove all screws and place in oven for 6-7mins and literally pull apart)

LED strip wired up, sheathed and secured with double sided 3m

Sanded down the areas i wanted the light to penetrate, masking of the rest.

Picture taken in daylight, They are wired in to the side light and i use them as DRLs

apUphVC.jpg.2e857974763b6a6d618b5da802caf2c1.jpg

I used Butyl tape to reseal the lights, thats the proper stuff youre supposed to use. Also wear Latex gloves, you DO NOT want fingerprints inside the housing.

I tried but it doesnt picture so well, cameras dont like taking pictures directly into light, who knew :p

Overall very happy with how it turned out. Lots of positive comments . I didnt want anything where you can see the strips/tubes etc. They look cluttered during the day imho. This way everything is hidden behind the shroud.

@HEADPHONESI will post a couple pics when i get a chance to. Not easy to get the details at night as the camera just blurs it into one source.

Thanks @davey_83 Took my time and did it to the best of my ability.

Did some exhaust polishing recently.

Was a little dull

Foam cones and White Diamond worked a treat

Tho polish even leaves some protection as you can see from the beading B)

Lots of elbow grease, but the drill helped alot. Will do the rest when i have the car on a lift one day.

That looks epic!!! Great work, look at those welds 😍

Im very happy with how it turned out,

Love those welds too lol, thought it was just me. The exhaust is very high quality, just like the rest of the APS kit. no complaints even after all this time

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the oem rear lip spoiler :snack:

Nothing major TBH

I have a Strosek spoiler and was thinking about mounting it without the OEM lip spoiler. Using the lip spoiler to create pieces i can mold into the Strosek to get it to sit correctly. Easier than making them from scratch.

However im really undecided whether to do that or fit it in the normal manner.

I wanted some DRLs/sequentials for my new bumper, but being a DE choices are pretty limited. So i made my own

I bought some clear reflectors and split them open 'carefully' ;). Then i made a notch for wires to come out and inserted my own switchback LED strip:

All the wiring is heat wrapped and the refelector resealed with Butyle and just a couple clamps :teeth: :

Spliced into side lights and indicators, tinted with some film and fitted back in:

Here they are in operation

Took a bit of time, but i am very happy with how they turned out. Finish is OE:

that's neat i love these little diy jobs, any links to the parts i have aftermarket switchbacks fitted but one has packed in so may look at this option

I dont sorry. I bought the clear reflectors but they dont seem to have them. The LED strip is taken from some Amazon switchbacks that were the right size

New steering wheel! Well custom retrim anyway :teeth:

Been wanting a new steering wheel for ages. After looking around decided to go with good ol trusty Royalsteeringwheels. Didnt want to lose the airbag so was the best option for me.

I had mine done in:

Premium leather top and Bottom

Alcantara grips

Orange stitching to go with my seats

Contoured grips

Flat bottom

I love it. Looks perfect imho, just what i envisioned. It feels so premium and sporty in the hand. Very comfortable and seems to be finished to a high standard.

More to come v soon

Looks great, how did you get on removing the wheel?

Thankyou.

I didnt have any problem removing it no. I dont think that left side steering column bolt is coming out again without a fight though
