AntelopeSam
Hi all I decided to repaint my wipers during this lockdown. Still working from home but have alot more time on my hands. The one thing I've got stuck on is splitting the wiper blades on the pivot. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks Sam

ZMANALEX
Just move the blade and arm away from the windscreen to release the pressure. Remove the cap and the nut and wiggle the arm, keeping it square until it comes lose. Very easy, but there is a knack to it.

Pretty sure the arm has been removed from the screen already.

Either that or the windscreen's covered in carpet ... oh, hang on a minute, he's collided with a sheep
davey_83
The knack is to apply pressure with the palm of your hand to the joint on the arm, which pops the arm off the wiper motor splines *if having trouble with removal
AntelopeSam
Everything is already in pieces on the kitchen table, thankfully everything came apart easily and nothing has broken. The springs have been removed from inside so it's just this last pivot for a complete strip down. I might end up doing the same thing as Dave, leaving the two sections together and sanding the best I can.
