Back in the Z Gang and couldn't be happier!

After nearly 6 years since selling my Azure 350z when my daughter arrived i have been yearning for another one ever since, but when the family changed to 3, childseats were needed, along with the daily daily school runs ,it just wasn't practical so changed to a BMW 330i.  It was a good practical 'family' car but then things started going a bit sour with various faults and it was costing me money, so chopped that for a 130d which again was fun quick and did the things i needed.  Unfortunately with that one (as you can see i don't have much look with BMW's) a removal van decided to plough into the back of me one night after work and wrote it off.  I threatened to get another Z but the other half pleaded with me not to, and she won...... but we did compromise and i persuaded her that a Subaru BRZ did indeed have four seats (for what the rear ones were worth!) and we went for a WRC Blue BRZ.  Absolutely brilliant little car, liked it a lot, got people asking what it was as there are not many abou, and it made it feel like that little Z feeling i used to get....... there was just one problem, they arent the quickest, and it started to grind me down some days but i didnt let on.

Things changed, we lost the dog so no need to ferry him around, i only did the school runs when i was not working shifts, and eventually i secured a new job, and a nice decent pay rise, and i was caught a few times on the iPad looking at 370z's and Helen just used to laugh and say 'in your dreams' (cos sometimes i had the Nismo ones open, but i had to have a dream!)  My daughter is about to turn 6 and if we do go out as a family we used the Mrs' car so i only had the BRZ at weekends, no i thought is the time!

Was close to viewing a few older ones, 2010 and 2011 plates, but something was putting me off paying x amount for a 10year old car.  One popped up on a website cheap and new enough for me and i thought ive nothing to lose - gave them a call and said how serious i am and what could we do with a cash sale.  After a few hours of deliberating between us both he eventually knocked a severe amount off i were to buy this weekend, now, all i had to do was get the Mrs to drive me to fetch it.  After being a little apprehensive we set off to fetch it from Derby and as soon as she saw it she knew it was more car than the BRZ, could tell in her little face.  I was asked to test drive it so i (reluctantly) threw her the keys and said 'go on have a go you might like it' and off the went.  10mins later she was back and replied 'yeah its OK get it if you want!'

So i am now the proud owner of a 65 plate Graphite Grey Nissan 370z with 46k on the clock, pic below: -

What do you all think!?  Did i do well paying £13k for her?  I think i got a bit of a bargain if i am honest.

Bodywork is immaculate, but a tiny few marks on the alloys, dont bother me that much yet though.

It doesnt have the sat-nav unit in it anyway but i do a 9mile round trip to work, and 6mile round trip to school so it didnt bother me one bit, just not sure what to do with thee cubby part - any suggestions?

2 previous owners, along with four services, but heres the bad part - the service book has been 'misplaced' and nobody can find it.  Am i right in thinking if i contact Nissan they can get me a new one and pre-print it with the previous services or am i making that up?  I think i read it somewhere that you can do that.

Its not dirty enough to wash yet and i am back at work Saturday but Sunday its going for a blast out across the Pennines with my mate and his RS5 and ill wash it afterwards.

Chuffed to bits at the minute, it drives smoother and more fluid than the BRZ, and there are no little rattles that it had too, so i am more than pleased with it.  Matilda wanted to put her child seat in as soon as we got back saying 'thats my seat mummy, youll have to go in the boot!'

Welcome back buddy. Nice looking car you have there. I would say yes you have a bargain there. Service book could be an issue if they are trying to make out it has full service history. But i wouldn't let that bother me just get all the fluids changed and a full service and start again, if you cant find it out from Nissan.

Thanks lads, i love it :)

Just been out for a run and fill up (its a bigger tank and thirstier than the BRZ) and loved every second.

Quick question; the front bumper lights - are these LED do you think, they dont look like reflectors to me, but i cant seem to get them turned on, unless they activate at night when lights are set to 'Auto'?

Also, on the instrument panel where it shows you the gear you are in a small S in the top right, assume this is the Rev Synchro being active at the time of driving?   I havent looked in the manual yet, been busy sorting bits and bobs out for it.

Thanks,

Thanks,

The front bumper lights are daytime running lights. They should be ON all the time (engine running) when the headlights are OFF. When you turn the headlights ON then the daytime running lights go OFF.

The S is when the rev synchro is activated. It will stay on unless to press the button to turn it off.

I would say a stonking deal as you've paid a massive chuck less than trade for it. Can I come and pick you up when going to view my next car please.

Ello n welkom
