If anyone has one lying around in their garage.. can u pls PM me.

Im in kingston upon thames.. anyone with a spare one local wud be great.

I have one which I took off my car after 400 miles so it is like brand new.

Why would you want the most restrictive part of the OEM zorst system.

OH! and I am not local

Cheers,

Alex.

Fitting back on an OEM Y section should be a last resort as they are soooooooooo restrictive.

What do you mean by "keeps blowing" ?

Does it crack and break or is it blowing at the flange gaskets ?

A good quality Y section with the proper gaskets should not give you any issues if fitted properly.

Do you still have the exhaust cross bar fitted at the front ?

Cheers,

Alex.

The Y pipe blows (basically cracks or breaks) in the 2 flexi parts.

I beleive i stil do have cross bar.. but need to check that again.

It's normal on the Nismo system's loads of people in the States have had their Y-piece split, my car has the standard Y pipe, as the Nismo one split ! makes it even worse apparently if you have the Hi Flo cats fitted as well

I think thats why a lot of the after market systems retain the original Y pipe ??

Well.. it could be that it needs another support to stop it vibrating.. it seems to always break where the flexi parts are on the Y pipe.. and yes its only a couple of months old..

It cud be the kinetix hi flow cats too.. but i know loads of people who have this setup in UK and havent experienced this problem yet.

Im gona go to Powerflo or Mr exhaust tmr and ask if they can fit a custom Y pipe without any wire flexi parts.. just straight stainless steel Y pipe..will be more rigid.

If they cant do it.. then definately need to go back to stock Y pipe or maybe ask for alternate y pipe from phil.. i dont know how much they cost.

Mounts checked - nothing wrong with them..

Exhaust movement checked - nothing wrong with it.

Garage says its Y pipe or the fitting.

Now im v confused.

like I said before , it's not uncommon for the Nismo Y-pipe to split , put another make on or a standard item

I hear what you are saying Tim, but its a couple of months old :surrender: Even a quick fit euro exhaust lasts that long ;)

Where are they splitting?any pics, would get mine rewelded up here at work if it did, or is it the flexible joint that goes?.

im going to the custom exhuast garage on wednesday ..theyll inspect it to see if they can make their own y pipe (much more rigid) or as u said cut and re-weld a replacement arm with new flexi - might cost a lot of money being custom made stainless steel!

but other than that only solution i see is stock Y pipe or diff make of y pipe.
