Osakakev
Hi I've got a 2006 Fairlady on the way from Japan and the two chassis number searches I've done state different engines (one days DE and one says HR). I know UK HR's started 07 but could Japan have started it earlier or is it just incorrect info? Cheers
Jack94
Pretty sure the HR wasn't available in any country until 2007. Do you not have a photo of the engine bay? That's the easiest way to tell because the 2 engines look very different..
Osakakev
No unfortunately don't Just wanted to be buy some service items before it arrives Cheers
andy james
Engine bay photo will be the easiest way to tell. Im sure Busters wife netti has a JDM convertible HR which is a 2006. Maybe the home market got the car a little earlier.
ZMANALEX
The only difference on the service items are the air filters and spark plugs which are good for 50,000 miles. However as the guys have said previously, an image of the engine will provide you with a definitive answer to your question.
Jack94
How about a photo of the speedo? The DE redlines at 6.5k, rev-up at 7k & HR at 7.5k
Ebized
DE HR
Osakakev
Thank you all. I don't have photos of engine bay or speedo yet. It's currently on it's way to the docks in Tokyo so might get some there. If it's possible that be a HR I just wont order those bits until I know for sure. coldel
What photos do you have? In most cases HRs have a bonnet bulge (although some DE owners bought an HR bonnet and stuck it on their DE) so you will be probably 95% sure before it arrives
Osakakev
It has a aftermarket carbon fibre bonnet but I have been promised some pictures at the port so hopefully that will confirm Cheers
