Nico01
Hi all! Had a bit of a problem tonight, drove to town to pop to a shop with no issues, came out and started the car but abs light, engine management light, esp light all stayed on. The headlights came on without actually turning them on, and the car wouldn’t rev up? I was going to leave it there and get it picked up tomorrow but the central locking wouldn’t work either? So I had a look around under the bonnet and found that one of the wires from the 60amp fuse to the battery positive terminal was loose. Wiggled it a bit and tried starting the car again. It’s started and drove home ok full power, although esp light still on and the lights still on without turning them off. Got home, sorted the dodgy wire and thought that would of sorted it! No..... although the car drives fine now, the esp light still on, Rev counter doesn’t work, light on without turning them on and the fob not working to lock it, and although the indicators work they aren’t flashing up on the dash? Any ideas guys?
cs2000
Odd issue that. I highly doubt any will show up, but I’d check for fault codes, also pull and check your fuses to see if any are blown.
cb350
Also when pulling the fuses, check to make sure nothing's getting shorted out. I don't think this is an issue with the 350Z, but my brother had a car once where all the lights were stuck on, and it turned out there was moss in the fuse box! With the time of year, I wouldn't rule out some sort issue with damp?
cs2000
Speaking from very recent experience, if you do pull the fuses, dont just visually check them, you really need a multimeter to check them with, anything over a very tiny resistance is blown. A huge chunk of my recent issues with the Z was a fuse which was blown. Looked totally in-tact but when tested with a meter it had crazy high resistance. It was blown, but i suspect it was a hairline seperation which allowed some conductivity, but not enough even for 12v to flow smoothly.
