£40,000 and now talk of 3 trims. Theyve been testing in China. Yoke steering wheel is a bit of a gimmick..

Spy shots look interesting. Apparently came about as a result of some crowdfunding and online interest.

Skateboard setup (MG) puts the weight in the middle of the car stretching to all 4 wheels.

The Rimac set up as a mid engine format. MR type.

M5 has a traditional front engine over the front axle set up. Or in some cases the engine is as far back as allowed being slightly behind the front axle.

Pros and cons to each. With rear and AWD torque vectoring and rear wheel steering could fix the weight penalty that comes with EV.

The top spec compared with a Jaguar V8 weight is matched but say 536hp in the MG vs V8 Jaguar 2023 power is 86hp more on MG, weight is 1700kg on jag vs 1900kg on the MG but Torque is much higher on the MG. Could be as high as 600 -700 ft lbs. Definitely interested to see how much itll weigh and the spec sheet lol...

Funny enough MG bought a couple of dealerships in London with Nissan renting space 😂. Nissan made the decision to not build any more combustion engines. A big factor in Z not coming

This cars being fast forwarded because Nissan, Tesla and Porsche have talked about this EV  roadster/coupe for years. I think the ppl out in the sticks or West country can hold onto ICE a bit longer than us Londoners. Especially with the traffic levels, ULEZ and proposed congestion charge for all vehicles. I got a charger at home lol

They say it will go into production in 2024. It definitely wont be cheap. Im assuming it will be direct competitor to Boxster and Cyberster/MGC Roadster.

This is how I see it playing out in the next few years

Potential Sports EV

Boxster/Cayman - £60,000 - £74,000

MGC - £50,000-£60,000

Nyobolt - £70,000

Nissan Max Out Roadster - £55,000

Lexus LFA successor with Toyota developed gearbox- £95,000

Tesla Roadster - £120,000

Audi TT Successor - £50,000+

MX5 Plug in Hybrid - £35,000

Yeah China have over 20 large EV companies and startups. Im not familiar with mainland but im sure their infrastructure isn't perfect.

Companies like BYD, Geely shift quite a few cars locally. You got Polestar and SAIC

One thing he mentioned about some companies rebranding to start selling EVs. Sad thing is Nissan had the Leaf out over 14 years ago. They didnt capitalise and allowed Tesla to get majority the market share with Model S and X. The Leaf should have had a redesign and Infiniti could have had some electric models with the whole brand electrified in 2016 with the help of Renault. Now theyre having money issues. They just about made their main models hybrid and the electric SUV Ariya has some defects "black screen" and arrives close to 50k 14 years after. Laziness cost them.

Other car manufacturers Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Ford, Jaguar seem to have made moves to overtake Nissan and eat into their market further. Porsche and Lotus are next to enter. It would be very hard to make headway in a sea of competition. Theyll have to go back to selling at 30-40k

£40k in China. £50k in UK. Seems a bit steep. Interesting is the fact Tesla Plaid isn't coming to the UK in right hand drive. Model X and Model S. Tesla have had to reduce prices on stock.

The MG will be level on performance for the base spec. The MG is looking heavier than the model 3 which is crazy....The top spec Will have 100 more HP than model 3 performance. The X dual motor weighs around 2000kg and Model 3 1847kg

Depreciation is the main concern on EVs. Model 3 are showing up in droves around 20-30k. I wonder what the used price will be on the MG Roadster after a year and 15k miles for example.
