muzzer
Hello, helpful forumites. I am thinking to disconnect the battery as a theft deterrent for about a week. Apart from resetting the trip computer will this have any ill effects?
Jack94
If you disconnect your battery your alarm won't work? Which if your car does get stolen I bet your insurance company wouldn't be happy about. Also what's to stop them from just popping the bonnet and putting the lead back on? If you're going to do it (I wouldn't) then at least remove the negative lead completely.
Umster
Better off with a stoplock and RFID blocker and keeping the battery connected.

Umster
Buy the cheapest one off fleaBay, Amazooon etc. They won't work unless you're about 1m away from the car so don't get too upset if you're stood next to the car pressing the buttons inside the pouch. It just stops the relay attacks. I'd still use it in conjunction with a steering lock. You can pick them up as freebies usually so wouldn't pay more than 5 quid for one or 8 quid for a pair. ShortPaul
Can't you put your car on a friend's drive or a family members drive?
Kieran O'Quick
You could pull the fuel pump fuse. Its a pain to get to it
