Lee M
Hi, I have just got my self a 350z on a 07 plate. I seem to have a problem with the electric roof. I have the engine running foot on the brake, press the rood down button and the windows go down I can hear the lock releasing on the roof and that is it nothing else happens. Can any one shed some light on what the first things I should look at. Thank you Lee

Your bank balance would be a good starting point. Seriously, have a search, as this subject has been covered many times. Was the roof working when you bought the car? ZMANALEX
I am sorry to hear about your friend's Dad. If you are not handy with the tools or a multimeter I would advise taking the car to a roof specialist. The issue may be something quite simple or perhaps more complex and expensive. Where are you based?
Ridz
As Zmanalex said, it may be a simple issue, so forgive my daft question, but have you released the manual latch? It is located just above the rear view mirror,

When I press the open button the windows go down, the passenger seat back rest moves forward and the roof with the rear glass in unlocks and then nothing else happens. ZMANALEX
Talk to these guys: http://www.carhood.com/ I do not think that they actually carry out roof repairs, however, I am sure that they can recommend someone close to you. I could easily repair this issue for you however I am 500 miles away in North East Scotland.

What do you think the best place for me to start looking?
ZMANALEX
This is a little bit different than a power tool repair I am afraid First thing that you will probably have to do is get access to the roof mechanism to enable you to carry out preliminary checks.
