Sit
As per the title really, I am 13 pages into this forum now and havent come across a similar thread. Interested in how people came to be in a 370Z, what you came from and how the 370Z compares?? I find it’s good to canvas peoples previous cars and their move to the 370Z, I have considered lots of different options along the way and at present the Z is the front runner. It maybe that me of the other cars on my ‘list’ was owned previously by someone on here before their 370Z so sort of puts it in context for me. Rob350
I went from an s2000 to a 350z when I had it, now in an e46 m3 but my next purchase will Definatly be a 370z when I'm bored of the beem as the z got me hooked
Akumanozetto
i owned a e92 320i. It was my first car in the UK and it was such a fun car trade it in for a 370z for 3 months now and i would say it was a wise choice. May keep it for 2 or 3 year and my next car would hopefully be a GTR or a R8

Bry
S2000 to 350z to E46 m3 to 370z. s2000 was great but bloody unreliable. Loved my 350z , a great all rounder. M3 was epic only sold it to come here to Oz. 370z best looking of the group and joint quickest with m3, just wish the engine had more character .

Si I was planning to get a M3 e92 coupe too b4 i made up my mind for the 370z. Yet, i want to try something new, at least a different interior that's why i chose the 370z in the end. rabbitstew
I went from a Golf GT TDi to my 350z HR Roadster. So quite a change for me! Was planning on getting an E46 M3 and went to a garage to look at one and spotted a 350z Roadster sitting in the corner and that was it. I was straight on autotrader the rest of the day and bought one the following day!
Andy_Muxlow
I came from having not owned a sports car to having a 350z. Then an 07 plate focus ST-3. To now having my 370z and i love my 370z loads. The ST was an awesome car but it wasn't a ZED lol.
Wayne370Z
I traded in my RCZ Gt200 for the 370. The 370 is far better in terms of outright performance, acceleration, speed, etc. but the RCZ was probably better in every other way, practicality, economy, equipment, etc.

Ekona
I had a VXR220 before my 350Z. Apart from the awful stereo and the freezing of the windscreen inside in the winter, it was a better car in every way than the 350Z. Doesn't mean I regret the change at all: Sometimes a car can be worse but better for you at that point in life. My recent change has seen me go from 4.4L V8 with 333bhp to 2.0L I4 and 160bhp, but I'm still having fun: It's just different.

Ekona
I think you may well find I did plenty of all of those! Many a trip to Anglesea for trackdays, and of course going to Wales always involves rain (but the roof only leaked if you put it on from the driver side, do it from the pax side first and it was fine!), and I did discover that the wiring for the front lights was done in two different colours when trying to add HIDs. Typical Lotus! Loved it though, from sitting in those gorgeous bucket seats to after I had it mapped and there was no such thing as an overtaking space too small. Amazing car.

That's a fair coincidence, the same cars and in the same order as me haha, you've clearly got good taste Although I am really eager for a porsche even just for a year then get a 370z. so if money allows I'll get a Cayman s if not a 370 and put porsche dreams on hold. my s2000 never had issue at all from 100k to 118k apart from a worn chain tensioner but you could remove the drive worm inside, sand blast it to rough it up again and put back together (a little tip i learnt off another owner, new ones were £270) I had 52 reg with hardtop. Id have another one in a heartbeat, brilliant little car and better looking than the gen1 z4 or boxster competitors.

formatzero
Quote I went from 350z to 370z but now back to 350z,reason being 370z was a fairly new car and I just wasn't using it enough to justify the cost ,so got an older 350z which has not so much value in it .Yes it's a bit slower but interestingly although being fitted with 370z wheels it has far less road noise, very odd. daveo132
I came from an e46 325. Great car, did nearby 100k in it. To drive the don't feel vastly different. By that I mean the steering is nicrly weighted and the brakes feel good. My e46 had the suspension done so it handeled great. My 350z seems to have some very poor suspension but it's being changed this weekend to the same kit as my BMW. Power can't compete though. Extra 1000cc and 100hp... Keyser
Technically I came from a Porsche 911 Carrera Cab, but I sold that when we moved house and only had a company van for a year maybe longer Then I got the 350z - a few mods Then the 370z - a few more mods - Now I've just moved to a GTR

My s2000 was a 2007 model and under warranty it needed new clutch new engine short block new VSC ECU (stability/traction control ) hood catches I must say Honda were superb in replacing the above and always gave me a courtesy car. I’d love a Porsche but scared of their durability and how much it will cost to keep it tip top. I live about 3 hours from the nearest Porsche dealer so a bit of a trek for a service. I did consider an e92 m3 but was not impressed with it compared to the e46, it was technically better in every way than the e46 but just felt a bit too refined for my taste. I also considered a z4m coupe but they are very rare and expensive here in Oz. I’m loving the 370z and plan on keeping it for a long time. It recently went on a trip into the mountains with v8 mustangs, falcons, and utes, rx8 and focus rs and the z was superb especially the brakes . Usually I have my eye on a future replacement but for once I have no plans at all, the big Z is here to stay .
StormWhite
Ford Cortina MK2 1500GT, Ford Cortina MK3 2000GT, Toyota MR2 MK1, Renault 5 Turbo, Ford Escort XR3i, Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi, Honda Civic Type R FN2, Focus RS Mk2, Vauxhall (Holden) VXR8, Vauxhall Corsa VXR (Stage 2) and then Nissan 370Z. I wanted a Z4 M3 coupe but too expensive considering age/mileage. Edited February 12, 2019 by StormWhite

Sit
Really interesting so see everyone’s replies but also encouraging that a number have moved from a 350Z into a 370Z and also moved away from the Z completly only to return later down the line. Really excited about the prospect of owning one, met with some friends last night one of whom has an Alfa 4C, one with a VX220 and one who is picking up a VX220T on the weekend. There is talk of some driving weekends in the sunnier months but also more importantly a trip across to Austria next year to watch the GP. I think the 370Z will make the ideal companion for these trips and should fit in nicely with the other cars. Si

I didn't suddenly become poor, just decided that the 350Z suited my needs better than all the others : )
Sit
Wow that’s a definite testament to the Z car!! How was returning to the 350Z from the RS3? Were all your Z’s coupe and manual or have you had both roadster, coupe, manual and auto?? Si
