Derek_ZR
My holiday plans have changed again..... Still going to Torquay in Devon for the 2nd week of July but instead of visiting a few places in England on way back up for week 2, I am now going to toddle through the Chunnel on the Sunday and come back over later on Thursdsay afternoon. Obviously I will be in France and also plan to hop over to Belgium while I'm over but I was wondering if anyone knew any places that were nice to visit in Belgium and the top half of France, preferably on the Belgian border side. Also anyone with knowledge of accommodation would be appreciated. I take it our equivalent Travel Inns will be common over there ?
Chesterfield
Hi Derek, Hope you dont mind, but ill move this to the off topic area, as its not really Z related. Ive decided I want to go and visit the Millau Bridge in southern France - not really the area you are going, but it certainly looks like a sight to see. There was a documentary on a few weeks ago detailing the construction of it - an engineering marvel! Ive never really visited Northern France - just driven through it from Zebrugge on my way to Calais.
Derek_ZR
It is Z related as the 350ZR will be going Southern France would be nice as I haven't been there for years but time and miles really rules it out. Just Torquay and back is 950 miles so I don't want to add up what the rest will be

I drove over the millau bridge last year in July ...really worth making the effort to do this ..I made a 300 mile detour , just to look at this marvel (I was really heading for the Costa Blanca ) never regreted it ... only thing was I didnt have the 350 then
steve_b
I did North of France, Belgium, Lux and Holland 2 years ago. Word of warning is France is shut on Monday's, well Monet Garden is. Reims is great if you book a Veuve Cliquot visit, Belgium not up to much, Lux is only worth 1 day visit, but there is a very good restaurant right in middle of town. But 3 days in Amsterdam was the best bit. Expensive to park and nightmare to drive round city centre. If only doing France, then Le Mans is close, Abbeville is only 1 hour south of tunnel, lots of Normandy invasion stuff if that turns you on. Reims also has an old race track, but all you can see is the pits garages which are kind of famous. Will dig out the exact route for you.
