Keyser
No I managed to get out of the trip to Ikea, but then had to spend the day building all that flat pack furniture, since then all my best efforts to do some more in the Shed have been thwarted by surprise NOT parties and work Hopefully I'll get a chance to pick it up again soon

cs2000
I know its been Christmas and all, but is this finished yet! Joking of course, just love to see what amazing specialised tool you've been creating this time around, Wouldn't surprise me if that bead roller wasn't torque'y enough after your earlier motorised mods, so you created a massive adaptor and strapped the LS to it, complete with a Z acceleration pedal of course!

No more tools built (I have done a bit on the chassis though) It has nothing to do with mince pies ............................... Why you ask? well you have this available where I was for Christmas So instead of mince pies I'd have breakfast Then desert then as its Christmas another desert That set me up nicley to go look at stuff like - So that's why it is not finished and why it has nothing to do with to many mince pies - possibly to many banoffee waffles or chocolate pancakes but not mince pies A more car related update may follow soon if I can roll myself over to the camera with the pics on it Keyser Maximum Calories

Keyser
OK Then as you have all put on weight just by looking at the pictures above sit back and digest the small amount of progress made - I finished off the front suspension arms and removed the frame - Then a test fit Added the ARB carriers and the ARB Then I took it all apart and checked the symmetry (big word for me ) Well happy with that just need to trim the top plate That done I went onto the rear frame that I hadn't finished. After measuring up wrong (I'm only human) the rear spring hangers had to be moved leaving a bit of a hole Made a fill in piece weld and clean up (you'd never know I cocked up More Soon Keyser Maximum Effort (to burn of all the calories)

Keyser
Hi All Overdue update As i Have far too many projects and you lot seem to like seeing my antics I thought I'd just keep them all together I have done a bit on the pop I'm just not showing you lot yet as you will no doubt think I have lost the plot (spoiler - I have) Slowing down the Pop project is phase 1 of a top secrete project that @andybp is helping me out with However Phase 1 was completed when this arrived - Out with the old In with the new Spot the difference? No nor can I My Milling machine motor bearings are dying and the bed transverse feed is so worn it wobbles, The parts just for the motor were over £700 and then the bed would need work, I ended up chatting with a guy local to me that sells engineering equipment as well as servicing them he offered me a part exchange on mine which cost less than the parts (let alone labour) to repair mine. So that was a no brainer and I did the deal - just need to get it wired back in and I'm good to go Keyser Maximum Effort

Keyser
OK then, Stand by to cringe Now it was pointed out to me by someone that shall remain anonymous @andybp that I was basically building a 350z chassis from the ground up, this is all well and good but will it fit into the pop shell? Well the simple answer is no - not a hope in hell, did I let that slow me down? No So now I have front and rear suspension mounts made I got the shell off the old chassis and into the Zed Shed - a few measurements show that the bracing on it was not sufficient or stresses since they were fitted have caused it to bend out of alignment so add straightening it up again to the list of problems Anyway a few more measurements and the afore mentioned busy body and my suspicions proved correct - it aint gonna fit the body is to narrow for the new running gear! So I came up with a solution (some may say it's OTT) Bloody wide enough now isn't it So the theory is lay it over the suspension and fill in the gap in the middle Stay tuned to see how that goes Keyser Maximum Effort 6

He had a shell laying around (as you do), and had an old Jag (?) V12. So he sliced the MR2 down the middle and wang'ed the V12 in the back. It was unreal!!
rabbitstew
I thought you`d have measured up before you started making the chasis, as those Ford Pops are mega narrow cars! doh! How much wider does it need to be? Still, a lot of people would have just chopped the top off 350z and welded the pop shell on top.
