HEADPHONES
Following on from this thread I thought I'd share how I've used a broken camera tripod to aid in my set up. Bought another battery led cob light for a fiver Stuck it onto the tripod with sticky velcro pads Park the car (tonight was our Mini's turn) under the halogen wall mounted security light to illuminate the roof and rear. A small cob led torch at each corner. My tripod led lights up the front and bonnet perfectly. I'd never do any waxing at night Just the lightest touch using a 2BM wash after a good presoak, rinse and a dry with a nice drying aid for lube. Then some tyre dressing. Keyser
Dedication See if it's dark no one knows the car has not been washed, That is my excuse for not having that kind of dedication anyway
deadcluck
Those are some bright lights! What a good idea... Might invest in some of the dual led setups Screwfix have for the same purpose
veeg33
Lidl has some dual LED on tripod on Special buy a few weeks ago. I think they were £30.
davey_83
My wash getup for the next 6 months Have a floodlight on the front of the house, but with it going on and off all the while I just tend to unplug it. I'll use my handheld cob led torch to slick the tyres and I'm done.
HEADPHONES
Was in Aldi today and picked up their rechargeable led worklight for £20. No mention of wattage, but rated at 600 lumens and 4 HR run time. 3 yr warranty. Here's a side by side comparison with an "allegedly" 20w typical Chinese light from eBay. The Aldi one is much slimmer and compact on the left. The bigger eBay one is very slightly brighter in practice but only if you look hard enough. Used it tonight to wash the zed but only managed to clean the wheels before rain stopped play so no piccies of it in action yet. The QC from an Aldi supplier should be more reliable than the unknown eBay stuff and I'd rather pay the £20 at Aldi than risk taking a punt on an unknown supplier for £17 which is the cheapest I've seen for a 20w one. nissanjuke
good idea and its only £3 more for peace of mind.
HEADPHONES
Got some cheap £6 eBay tripods to raise my worklight! Just gave the zed a wash incorporating the Aldi light and the 2 little tripods The Aldi light is the one at the passenger rear wheel with the eBay one just visible at the passenger front. Smaller cob worklight on their new tripods
