ElliottDavis
Hi guys. Last week i was driving my car quite hard and my engine light came on. My fault reader came up with P1274 - Air/fuel ratio sensor 1. About 2 weeks ago I took my throttle body and air intake off for a clean as it was filthy and wasn't running quite right. Drives fine now but as I took the throttle body of it came clear to me that it's probably a 'one fit' gasket which I didn't replace. Anyway looking into the different reasons why this code would come up ive seen that the car running rich (too much air to fuel) can be due to intake gaskets.. would that really be enough to throw a code a week or 2 later? These are the possible faults: Faulty Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1 Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1 harness is open or shorted Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection Fuel pressure Faulty Fuel injector Faulty Air Flow Meter Hoping its not an injector! Cheers guys!
rothers2901
It may seem a little silly but make sure you have tightened all the clips connecting the intake pipe especially the ones after the air flow censor. Also did you connect the breather pipe which is located underneath the intake pipe. I forgot this once and it threw up a fault.
