hawker1986
Hi all, Just after some advice, driving the Zed today as I got to the end of my journey ive noticed an odd noise when pulling away as the clutch engages - sounds like a scratchy/rattly noise. Only seems to happen in 1st/reverse gear. It happens as you finish engaging the clutch, so you can get the car rolling with the clutch partly engaged before it happens. Any ideas what the cause might be? Cars on 69500 miles Thoughts much appreciated. Thanks Ed
HEADPHONES
Is it like this? If so it was very common. Happened to mine within warranty too. Needs regrease of CV joints if so.
hawker1986
No doesn't seem to sound like that, harsher more of a scratching noise and doesn't happen so soon after pulling off. Ive not heard it from outside the car, ill try and get a video of it later on
hawker1986
Well I’ve worked out what the problem is as it got worse when I tried to pull the car out the drive. The heatshield above the back box has corroded off its bolts and is rattling around. I don’t know how to pull it out though and I’m 60 miles from home! Mark350Z
Pick up some large washers, 50mm or so and reattach the bolts which will hold the heat shield in place covering the area that has corroded. Same happened to mine and this has done the trick for the best part of a year so far.
