I just can't bring myself to do it Thankfully the car is no longer a daily so it only gets used maybe once or twice a week. Sure saves me the stress of trying to commute in a car that struggles with basically completely flat roads Love your dedication
Silverthorn
Nothing hugely exciting but I fitted a rubber skirt/lip to the sideskirts the other day. Suprisingly doesn't look completely awful (imo) considering the price. Won't be permanent as I still plan on making a proper lip kit for the front, side and rear of the car. But it'll do for now! Might finally get round to giving the car a good polish over the coming weeks seeing as it won't be going anywhere anytime soon! mattross1313
I toyed with this on my old Z. I can't imagine it lasts all that long, but as you say for the price you can't really go wrong! Still can't believe how low this is for a static build! So nice
Silverthorn
@mattross1313 Cheers mate! A friend of mine fitted it to his car previously and it didn't last that long tbh. I don't drive the car that much anymore as I don't use it to commute to work so If I can get 3 or 4 months out of them then I'll be happy! Suprisingly the tyre wear isn't too awful now it's had another alignment Saying that, I'm already on my second set of tyres on the Kiwami's and I've only had them since January hahaha Thankfully the Delinte's are dead cheap in this size
Silverthorn
Pic heavy post inbound! 6 weeks later and i FINALLY have the prohibition notice lifted and i can once again use the car! Managed to pop out this afternoon and grab a few photos of the car with the new lips fitted. I've also now gone out and bought another push bike so the brackets for the brides have been pushed back another month... I promise they'll get fitted soon (i hope)
davey_83
Ridiculously low for static ride, looks hard as F**K though. What happen to the centre caps?....
Silverthorn
@davey_83 Cheers mate! Loving the way it looks now! I purchased the wheels second hand through JDMDistro and they never came with Centre caps unfortunately. I might purchase a set in the future but £60 ish is a bit excessive for some plastic imo
Bry
What prohibition notice? Car is looking beautiful. I pick up my Nismo front bumper this week and I'd like to do what you did regarding the magnets behind the bumper for the front plate. Our plates are metal over here so I've bought a pack of 3 of those Neodymium magnets about 5p coin size, do I just super glue them behind the bumper? Also what did you do with the three front crash impact sensors when you fitted the Nismo bumper ? Keep up the good work Edited August 25, 2019 by Bry
Silverthorn
@Bry I received a prohibition notice for the car due to the sunstrip and some brake light modules that I fitted ages ago. They made the outer 2 brake lights flash for less than 1 second before being held constant. The car went through an MOT with these fitted no problem but a motorway officer deemed it 'dangerous' and removed my car from the road. My local MOT station thought it was a bit excessive and didn't think the sunstrip and stickers were dangerous at all due to them mostly being placed over the passenger side of the windscreen, hence them still being fitted. With regards to the plates, all I did was super glue about 10 neodymium magnets (12mm diameter, 3mm depth) to the back of the plate and then put a layer of duct tape over to help secure them. Then I just held the plate against the bumper in the position I wanted it and placed magnets behind the bumper and allowed them to snap into place. Once I'd put 10 magnets on the bumper I secured those with super glue and duct tape as well. The first time I fitted the plates I only used super glue but after a while the glue dried out and the occasional magnet would drop off, hence the layer of duct tape. The impact sensors have just been cable tied to the lower aluminium cross member. Probably not the best way to do it and I probably will do it better at some point, I just haven't got round to it yet! Bry
Never ever heard of anyone having a prohibition notice on their car. Can't believe how pedantic they are. You'd be screwed here as you can't lower your car anywhere near as low as you've got yours. Thanks for the magnet info, I may order the brackets for the impact sensors as I've ordered just about everything else for the Nismo bumper (arch liners, engine under tray, tow hook cover) although I refuse to pay 2k for the DRL's or $110 for a Nissan badge .

Silverthorn
@Bry those wheels are awesome I'd love to have a multi piece set of Kiwami's if I had the funds. Gunmetal/GT silver centres and chrome lips are simply stunning!
Silverthorn
Nothing interesting... Just some more photos, again! As some may have seen, i had a small disaster with a tyre a few weeks ago so I've since purchased 4 new tyres in a 245/35. That slight reduction in stretch is quite reassuring and has improved the fitment so win win! Also, by going to a 245 it has increased the sidewall height by a few mm. This has allowed me to lower the coilovers a bit more to tuck the rim that little bit closer to the arch Seat brackets are also arriving tomorrow so i can FINALLY get the Bride's fitted after having them sat in my house for almost 6 months Absolutely LOVE the look of the fitment in that last shot! Silverthorn
Seats are finally mounted. It only took me 6 months to buy the brackets Suprisingly impressed with the quality of the brackets I ordered from the states. Including postage and import tax they only cost me about £155 ish for the pair, much more reasonable than £200 per side! The seats sit about an inch lower than the stock seats without rails which is perfect imo. Although having these seats makes me want to change the steering wheel so much more Just need to wire in the resistors for the airbag connector tomorrow and its good to go! This is the only photo I have of them in the car at the minute. Hopefully I should be able to get some better shots over the weekend once they're finalised and I have some more time. I've also got some programmable sidelights coming so I can set them to strobe a bright white which should look pretty awesome (imo). Always loved the look of that on old Jap cars so hopefully it looks as good as I'm thinking it will. Silverthorn
Aired out As some may have seen, I've also bitten the bullet and purchased a 326Power Manriki Wing. I think that, combined with a custom front lip, side skirt extensions, rear diffuser fins and a rear bumper lip, it should pull it off. We'll see! Long term goal is something like this: ^ It's static btw Not to everyone taste I'm sure but i absolutely love the look of this car! Although i don't plan on changing wheels in the near future; if i do change, it'll be for a set of these with silver centres and brushes lips I plan to get started on the lip kit (front, side & rear) at some point over Christmas when i get some time away from work. The goal is to get the sideskirt no more than maybe 10-15mm from the floor while also trying to get the front and rear bumpers to actually look low. Obviously aircups will be coming in the very near future as well as a new steering wheel and boss kit! Silverthorn
New steering wheel courtesy of my Girlfriend. Went with a Motamec semi-dished wheel as it was one of the only wheels I could find that didn't have a stripe at the top of the wheel and/or cost an absolute fortune. It's made such a massive difference to the overall feel of the car and its by far one of my favourite mods to date. Definitely completes the interior imo Also fitted some controllable RBG LEDs strips to the interior and above the number plate just to add a touch of 'chav' to the car and constantly illuminate the road behind me in a blend of blues and purples
