Silverthorn
Japfest complete. My first time attending the show at Silverstone and it certainly won't be my last! Quite amazing at how many cars were there - even after 10 hours I still don't think I looked at everything on display. Brilliant day all round. 14N
Saw your car on stand mate, first time I'd seen it in the metal, looked epic!
SHEZZA
Have to agree with Ian, love it. I was behind you the last few miles to Japfest and I swore I heard you catching on some cats eyes ! no wonder you took the bridge route in.
Silverthorn
@SHEZZA Hahaha cheers mate! It can be a bit of a nightmare at times trying to change lanes and avoid all the bumps at the same time Definitely not the most practical car anymore

Silverthorn
So... Combe turned out to be a bit more expensive than initially anticipated Purchased myself a pair of Bride x Vertex Funky Queen Zeta 3's. I've been eyeing these up for ages so I was quite amazed to see some in person at combe on the Japwestmods trade stand. Couldn't say no! Silverthorn
@Bry Nah i didn't bother with the brackets in the end, they're give or take £200 each! I'll be making my own base plate and then probably purchasing the L brackets to mount the seat to the base. I doubt I'll run rails or anything like that either just to ensure i can get the seat as low as possible in the cabin.

I did pretty much the same thing. I’m 6 foot tall and have 5 fingers clearance above my head now and the driving position is perfect
Silverthorn
@Bry Yeah I've read a few forum posts on the US 370 site and a few people have mentioned that rails can make them sit quite high! I'm the only person that ever drives my car so i have no real need for them anyway.

ShortPaul
Hi buddy have you go your new seats yet
Silverthorn
@Chris370 Ah that's a bit of a bummer! They sure can be quite expensive to run, especially when you've got to pay your finance on top of that. No car is worth stressing over money - hope it all works out for you though! @ShortPaul Haven't got the seats in yet. A friend of mine was due to make the brackets at his work as he works in a machining company. However, he's since found a new job so that's off the cards Looking at getting myself some Planted seat brackets at the minute but just weighing up my options. 100% don't want rails as i want the seat as low as possible. Planted brackets are looking to be around £170 per side which imo seems like a total rip of for a plate of steel and 4 tabs There are a few other options out there at almost half the price - I just can't seem to find many people who've used them before so I'm a bit hesitant to go ahead with them... Not really in any rush to get them fitted at the moment as I've just spent a fortune on car parts for my girlfriends birthday for her GT86 I'd also like to change the steering wheel at the same time as installing the seats. Aiming to get them fitted at some point in July maybe Edited June 20, 2019 by Silverthorn
Payco
Contact our resident fabricator - Keyser (Chris) at the z shed. Maybe he can make some brackets for you. Hes in Bournemouth so not that far from you.

I'll give him a message and see what he says Managed to track down a set of brackets from the states for £150 for the pair Inc. postage and import fees so that may be the way I go. I think I'd be hard pushed to beat that for a price! Holidays and other bits and pieces are taking priority at the moment so once I'm back in mid August I'll be getting them ordered and fitted! Seem to be pushing it further and further back at the moment They'll be in for Trax that's for sure
Silverthorn
@TT350 Cheers mate! Finally starting to take shape now I think Although the list of plans I have doesn't seem to be getting any shorter just my wallet is alot lighter than a year or so ago before I owned it! That probably won't get any better! Unless you can resist the urge to keep modifying it, especially forced induction.

I'm waaay too poor for that Intake, ported plenum, test pipes and a map and I'll most likely leave it there. I need to buy a house soon
Silverthorn
A bit lower, a bit more camber. blah blah blah Same story, different week! 4
Bry
Looks epic. You've gone lower and I've gone higher (mountain roads are a bit bumpy here)
Silverthorn
@Bry Cheers mate! It'd make perfect sense for me to follow suit and raise mine up as well to be honest. I just can't bring myself to do it Thankfully the car is no longer a daily so it only gets used maybe once or twice a week. Sure saves me the stress of trying to commute in a car that struggles with basically completely flat roads
