Lex300
Hi guys need some advice been trying the tyre calculators and still none the wiser. Wheels are 18x9.5 et20 all round and after some tyres that will keep the car happy with tcs and anything else. Would i be fine having all the same tyres all round or best stagard. The tyres i came up with on the calculator. Not sure if right. Was 255x40x18 or 265x40x18 all round or would a 265x40 rear and 255x40 front be fine with the tcs etc systems . The car is lowered on tein springs 17mm front 14mm rear . If you guys can let me know will be most appreciated. So i can get some tyres thank you. Ekona
Don’t put the same size tyres all round, it’ll become very oversteery. Carry on playing with the calculator, try and keep within 3% difference of stock settings with 20-40mm difference in width front to rear. I’ll have a go later when I’m near the pc for you.
Lex300
Ive had another go Stock front 225x45x18 Option tyre front 245x40x18 = -1% difference might be stretched with a 9.5 wide Stock rear 245x45x18 Option tyre 265x40x18 = -1.27% difference The 245 might be a stretch on the 9.5 would sooner have them level with the wheel. 2nd size Stock front 225x45x18 Option tyre 255x40x18 = 0.23% difference Stock rear 245x45x18 Option tyre 275x40x18 = -0.07% difference Im not sure if the 275 will stick past the rim and hit the stock rear arch on a 9.5 et20 Whats do you guys think. Ekona
2nd looks better to me, and I reckon you’ll be fine with regards to touching the arches since that’s a very common rear width for Zeds, albeit usually on 19s.
Ben–350Z
Ah, looks like you've just come up with what I replied to your PM with I think you'll be fine on the rear arches - mine only just caught, and at an et12 sit 8mm further out than your et20 would. FWIW, I didn't find rolling the arches too much of a problem.
350Butcher
Different manufacturers measure up differently which makes this sometimes harder to work out but I have 255/40 front and 265/40 rear Yokohama AD08R tyres on 18" wheels and there is no issue with the tc at all
