KurtB
Hi, I need a new Y-Pipe section for my exhaust. I have a resonated Cobra mid and backbox, and standard Nissan Cats. Does anyone know what y-pipes will fit this, as some adverts show 2.25"inlet 2.5" outlet, others show 3". I would like to keep it reasonably standard noise and power wise, as I don't want to create problems with engine lights and mots (or is this just in the case of straight through cats?) Thanks Edited April 24, 2018 by KurtB
Bakkums
I have berk cats and a circuit werks resonated y-pipe and stock back. No problems with mot (netherlands) and noise. But noise is personal.
tomhess1010
I have Cobra exhaust and standard cats, with a Stillen y-pipe and it fits a treat. Pretty sure you can interchange most y-pipes and it's only the cats that would make your engine light come on!
fergie1471
What is the reason for changing the y-pipe?
KurtB
Thanks for the replies. Yes I think you are right that it is straight through cats that could potentially upset the warning light, not the y-pipe as it doesn't really do anything I have the standard cats so no problem there. I needed to change the Y-Pipe as it was blowing and was beyond simple repair. I have since replaced the Y-pipe and everything fit right and no lights! No increase in noise so should be good for MOTs. It looks quite smart it is a shame it is hidden underneath the car Kurt Edited May 3, 2018 by KurtB
