Marky67
Hi people, no mods at all carried out on my z, totally stock 05. Are there any gains to be had by fitting a plenum spacer to the 05? And if you do does it get in the way over the strut? cheers Marky
Jay84
Depends what size you fit. I think the half inch one is fine. As to the gains, it's better when you combine with an uprev map.
SHEZZA
Yes there are gains to be had though you’d need an up-rev afterwards to see any really. as for the strut brace that will have to be spaced up aswell though usually comes as a whole spacer kit. Marky67
What’s involved with the uprev lads. Enquirer recently with a mapping garage in the north east and was told they can only get tiny gains on the 05 z
Jay84
Horsham, Abbey or TDI north are your best bets, it's around 400-500 quid. I've not had it done though so I'm not your best answer.
Payco
I wouldn’t get a remap after just fitting a plenum spacer because it would not be money well spent. Do all your performance mods and then remap ie intakes, exhaust, plenum spacer and then do it. You won’t see any noticeable gains with just a plenum spacer alone.

StevoD
Avoid aluminium intake pipes unless properly coated At abbey last week I saw intake temps almost triple with the bonnet down Bonnet up 277 at the wheel Bonnet down 269 at the wheel Heat soak is horrific on these cars with non coated shiney aluminium intake pipes

It took a little longer to fit than expected but I gave myself the chance to familiarise myself with the engine . First impressions, It feels more responsive, pulls harder and has a noticeable deeper note to the exhaust. Another piece of the puzzle found ready for a remap.
