MartinW
Just finished installing my pioneer da230dab. Thanks to cs2000 for the guide and my girlfriend for helping, would have taken twice as long without a second pair of hands. I didn't do the harness / speaker wire hack that everyone else seems to have done and I'm happy with the sound levels, the only down side is that it thinks all of the speakers are front speakers. While doing this I also removed the old mobile phone adapter and replaced it with the usb cable, particularly happy with that part this is how I connected up the speaker cables, seemed to give the best sound and I thought the pic might be useful for someone else in the future as there instructions weren't particularly clear. The only real issue I'm left with is that my steering wheel controls don't work despite buying the adapter, they were broken before on the original stereo so I guess there is a more serious problem with them, has anyone else had this before? MartinW
So it turns out that the way this is installed has a couple of issues, mostly that Bluetooth phone calling isn't working and Google assistant can't talk back to me, I guess it's because of the way the speakers are plugged in. Looks like I'm gonna have to hack at those cables after all.
MartinW
Just in case it helps someone out... Turns out I missed a setting on the initial start up screen, if you're using an amp make sure that you select network mode rather than standard mode. You'll have to do a full reset to get back to that option. Still having some android auto related issues but it seems to be an app / phone issue and an internet search shows I'm not the only one
EzeePzee
Looks like you still have the false floor in your cubby for the Bluetooth adapter - mine just lifted up to reveal another panel underneath without the screw mounting bit in the middle
MartinW
I had that false floor up when I was doing the work, if I remember correctly it revealed the plastic bottom of the cubby and there was a hole in that where the Bluetooth adapter cables are now tucked. I remember at the time thinking I preferred it with the false floor but I'm gonna have to take another look now
