Because its £60 for the key and a further £60 to get it reprogrammed from a friendly main dealer if you misplace your spare and aren't lucky enough to find it again 4 months later under the bed :blush::blush::blush::blush:

But it still wont work ; the only car it will operate is the one it came from????????? wont it? :headhurt:

No ...... you can get any key reprogrammed (you need to have the car to program it to though) ...... it takes one hour according to the book at £60 per hour + vat !!!!!! I thought I'd lost my spare and was going to get a new one AND reprogram mine (and the car) so the old key couldn't be used on it .......... then I found it and now I'm just embaressed rather than totally skint :blush::)

The whole question is now causing me considerable distress as I thought at one stage it made perfect sense ....... now it doesn't. Having considered this for some time now I'm left with one utterance ......

........ WHAT MUPPET BOUGHT THAT AND WHY ????? :scare:

Deja Vu anyone :D:D:D:D:D

poss. someone needing a spare. If you undo the screw in the fob, you can substitute the key part for one that has been cut from a blank to match your original. Slightly specialised fitment but I doubt its unique :)

I saw this and thought the same? only thing I can think of is if you have a blank cut to your key form then reprogramme this fob to your car.and glue it to fresh cut key :wacko: .. :blush: Best just to get a spare from a dealer

like I said ! :thumbs::teeth:
