Willy
This has probably been discussed before, but can't find reference to this particular question.... I have bought an aftermarket 3" mid section and backbox and can't afford to replace cats and Y pipe just yet - is is OK to mate a 3" mid section to a stock Y pipe ? If so, what gasket for the 2.5" to 3" connection should I use, I assume the 2.5" ? TIA
ZMANALEX
Yes you will be fine, but emissions will be restricted due to the smaller Y section. Go with the 3" gasket:

ZMANALEX
Just take the 3" pipe down to your local motor factors and they will match up for a few pounds. Try and get a gasket with a fire ring.
