Maggz
Hi everyone, Long time lurker about to turn to owner. Life offered me a chance to finally buy a 370z, and I'm looking for a part exchange at Junction 17 for my Octavia VRS. As I don't trust traders of any sorts I wanted that a Nissan servis/garage does a PPI which I'd pay for, and J17 agreed. However Nottingham Nissan Sandicliff said they don't do PPI for cars not sold by their network, so I'm in desperate need to find a good independent place in notts or east Midlands to do the PPI. Hopefully you guys can help. I'm looking at a 2010 370z 40th anniversary model and a separate 2010 GT. I was hoping for a 2013 due to apperently better sound insulation and suspension updates but hey... You can't have it all, right? Any help is much appreciated! Cheers! Hi Rob, Thanks. I've read through 80% of online reviews so I'm aware of the issues their customers had. Sadly most traders are suffering from post sale support, warranty claims etc. That's why I wanted to do a separate PPI preferably done by a Nissan specialist or dealership, and not rely on what they say about the car
Mikevv
You'd be better off buying a forum car, which you can still have inspected by anyone else. Junction 17 have so many horror stories on this forum alone, from people who decided to go against it all.... " nah it won't happen to me... it'll be fine" YEAH NO! Browse our cars for sale section or post in the wanted section with your requirements and budget I found it easier to buy a new Nismo than it was to get a pre owned one - as an example if you put down say £10k for a deposit, a new Nismo can be had for £37k total meaning around £280 a month
coldel
J17 will lead you to nothing but a miserable car ownership experience if you have any problems. So many people come on here after buying there and say 'wish I had asked first before buying there' - you have avoided this potential issue. Why put yourself at risk? Its going to be a big investment, why risk it?
Ekona
Only buy from J17 if you are very comfortable using the court system to get money back when they screw you over. Sorry, I meant if they screw you over. Obvs. #justincasethelawyersarewatching
Maggz
Thanks for the feedback. The problem I have is, if I buy from a private owner, I need to sell my car first, and after that start looking, meaning being without a car - and due to my work that's not really an option. And part exchanges don't really work with forum communities. I figured if I do a PPI at a Nissan garage, I should know of any problems which would help me decide to not buy the car, or offer to reduce the price for the value of needed repairs. There's another car I'm looking which nissan is selling through their approvad used network. More expensive but a potential candidate as well. I'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone has a East Midlands recommendation for the PPI, but I'm definitely not buying anything without it. I've bought and sold enough cars in my lifetime to learn a few expensive lessons. Thanks again for the inputs, and please keep them coming
Azure350z
Being from Nottingham definitely avoid J17, they are a bunch of scammers. The Nissan garage near the show case should be able to find you a car with ppi

I'll drive by on Saturday morning to get mine evaluated but I suspect they'll offer me as much as webuyanycar... They do have 2, 18K cars which look nice but I'll know more once I talk to them. Maggz
Thread resurrection So after months of searching and looking around I've finally pulled the trigger and bought a car. I'll do a proper intro over the weekend but here it is: Coming from a tuned fwd car, and driving for a week only, I'm still getting to know the car, but so far it's been amazing, loud, and full of giggles and smiles. sipar69
Not sure this will be much help as they only had one 370 at the time I was looking for mine to replace the A45, but I had a very good buying experience with these guys. https://www.vr-eps.com/
