AMT
So I can change this thing without the clutch etc needing done and how much is that roughly?? lol (feel the panic in my typing.. love discovering new things)
docwra
If youre doing preventative, get the belts changed as well. My alternator belt went on a trackday at Snetterton, fortunately the battery lasted the day but it died just as I was leaving the gate ......... sub optimal. Drive it and if it goes then do it. I don’t think the clutch has to come out though
GreenLandy
Slave cylinder is inside the bell housing on the HR - a not so great bit of design. It is outside on DE and a 5 minute job to change
davey_83
I worry about body damage, worn part generally give a chance for upgrade. A few months after ownership of my 05' GT, the diff bush started leaking. I didn't have to replace it but in wanting to take my car on track I figured it was only something that was going to get worst. This gave chance for upgrade and £350 less in my pocket, which is the cost of a clutch replacement for most hatchbacks.
