JB33
I pulled up to a stop just outside the petrol station and then hard locked right to turn in, as I did, I heard this loud ‘twang’ like a metallic pinging Sound. I thought ‘WTF’. last for a second but car seems fine. Then the other day, I turned left from a hill start and heard this metallic rattle, almost like the sound a screwdriver would make when it’s fully turned ... that ratchet clicking. The car car has had two new suspension arms last year. Any ideas what what might be going on?
ZMANALEX
Coil spring twang more than likely.

There is no bearing in the top mount as it is a solid sleeved bushing.
Paul K
i would have said a broken coil spring, but i don't think the zed front springs is under the same rotational forces as a "macpherson strut" equipped car

JB33
THanks for the replies. It’s a stranger one. It’s going in for a service tomorrow so I’ll point it out then.
