Hit the nail on the head IMO with that. Alpine have a great range at the mo, and should be able to get iPod, bluetooth and Nav in one if you really wanted it. The external din sized Alpine Nav units can be expensive and if you only use it occasionally it might be better investing in a portable TomTom/Garmin etc and just leave the headunit to make noise!
