Payco
Like any car,it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it regardless of how much you think it's worth as an owner. That being said there is always a chance that someone will buy it if you are lucky. Stutopia
TBF it's a mint "classic" hot hatch, they've got a bit of following. It wouldn't take my £16k mind, it'd need to be an XR2i to tempt me.
Ekona
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA nope.
-G-
Some other mint condition "classic cars" it's competing with at that Price. 1998 TVR Chimera 4.0 - £15,950 1987 Mini Moke 1275 - £15,950 2000 Mercedes Benz AMG C43 - £15,750 1965 Triumph Vitesse 1.6 - £14,999 1973 MG MGB 1.8 Roadster - £14.995 1990 Bentley Eight 6.8 - £14,995 1993 Subaru Impreza WRX Turbo - £14,995 1978 VW Beetle Last Edition (65 of 300) - £14,991 1998 Caterham Seven - £14,295 1999 Pilgrim Sumo 2.0 - £14,000 1960 Austen 7 Mini MK 1 - £14,000 1988 Jaguar XJ - £13,995 1990 Bentley Mulsanne - £13,995 1973 Triumph Spitfire - £13,990 1999 Rover Mini 40 - £13,750 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow - £13,750 1969 Morris Minor - £13,500 1988 Mercedes G Wagen - £13,500 1989 Escort RS Turbo - £13,495 1975 Fiat 500 Evo - £13,000 1989 Panther Kallista - £12,500 1990 Jaguar XJS - £10,000 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo - £9,995 I just didn't see the Nova as being a particularly good or popular car, even when hundreds of thousands of them were in registration. It was the car that teenagers got as their first car because they were cheap to buy & insure or the car your Nan got to go down and see great aunt Elsie every month. Does that translate into it being a classic? Not in my book. Yes, some folk will have nostalgic memories of thrashing them to within an inch of their life & that might generate interest - but £16k to stare at that horrible plasticky dash with the wind down windaes and burberry chav seats? I seem to recall the 1.6 GSi was the "Best" version of that particular car - surely that would command a premium over the carburetted 6th option? -G-
A 1.4SR was £8,000 new, so god knows what the retail on these were. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-reviews/93816/vauxhall-nova-14sr
Zeezeebaba
I had a Nova many moons ago, it was ok but the offset steering wheel annoyed the hell out of me There is always an avid collector somewhere looking to pay silly money for a minter though but 16k! From the list posted the only one I would consider would be the Mini.
AliveBoy
I'd buy this Nova for the asking price, £23,000 seems like a lot of car for the money: https://goo.gl/DVrJJc
AMT
A Nova from the year I was born lol. It is pretty tidy however I don't think 16K tidy... prob still worth a good few thousands but not sure if its way over double figures. I do find it novel to see things like this though, possibly a reminder of my young times (when I couldn't drive but read all the crappy car mags).... I see a Sierra or old old escort these days and I'm like ....OHHHH LOOK AT THAT! lol Even seeing a 306 3 door hatch (always wanted one when I was young) and I'm like....nice lol
Stutopia
I had a real soft spot for the 406 Coupe when I was a teenager.
G1en
There is no way that nova has not been photoshopped. That vauxhall red paint should have faded to a lovely shade of pink back in the 90s. For 16k i just cannot see anyone buying it, get real.

Even single stage paint is easily protected from UV rays, not least of all by keeping it out of the sun. Even if it were faded, a day with a machine polisher will make it a nice, shiny red again. I wouldn't pay £16 for it personally, mind you, let alone £16k.

Kev
I had a f reg white one with a momo gear knob and a magnex back box. I loved it more than any car I've had. I was 18 and I'd wanted one since I was 13.

However he didn't uprate the brakes and it lasted about three months, flying down the A30 one night someone pulled out in front of us and we ended up on the roof in a field I've never seen instant brake fade like that since, we were lucky to survive that one. Ahh the exuberance and stupidity of youth

Ahh the exuberance and stupidity of youth I used to cruise around in mine with my kenwood base box and amp in my boot. I remember thinking I was better than the peco brigade with my magnex exhaust The good old max power days. I sold it to buy a mk5 escort rs2000. Woke up one morning at my girlfriends, and found that some @&*^ had taken the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and wheels (mim rafinos with yoko tyre). I was surprised they left the bonnet and seats. They left a big hole in the drivers door too. Edited August 4, 2017 by Kev

Id take a rs 1800 or RS turbo over a xr21.

un1eash
I had 3 in total, first 1.3 was stolen so I got another. The engine blew up on that one so had a 1.5TD with the izuzu engine, upped the boost from 0.7 to 1.0 bar and it flew whilst still sipping fuel. It had a 4" Peco exhaust, SR Seats, SR spoiler and GSi skirts, 2 12" pioneer subwoofers running of a Phoenix Gold amp and the first Alpine 4x60w headunit they made, come to think of it the sound system cost more then the car did.
