Declangibbs
Hi all. basically last week I serviced my 350z and started the car and was fine. Then when I started it again later the EML came on. so I reset the ECU and all was fine on my 30 mile drive until I pulled over. Once I started the car again the EML came on again. i have ordered a code reader but I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas? the car isn't running any different and isn't making any strange noises so I'm stumped. Everything is connected as it should be. thanks in advance
Ekona
Could be anything at all, without reading the code it's impossible to know or even take a logical guess. I could ask a bunch of questions to try and take a stab, but I reckon I'll wait until you've read the code to make both our lives easier
gsexr
Check any electrical plugs you pulled apart or may have dislodged. It could be a bad connection to something.
Declangibbs
Okay so I've just done a scan and I have 2 codes come up p0051 and p0051 (p) any ideas guys? Thanks
Ekona
Dodgy O2 sensor, replace and all should be fine. It's Bank 2 Sensor 1, but I'll let someone else tell you exactly which one that is as I'm having a brainfart and can't remember for the life of me which side of the engine that is! Declangibbs
Nice one thanks! Does the second code with a P on the end mean anything?
Ekona
Tbh I've never seen a code suffixed with a P before, but seeing as the number doesn't change I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it. Change the sensor and see if they both go, I'm betting they do.
Declangibbs
Is this the right sensor? Sorry I have no idea http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Nissan_350Z_3.5_2006/p/car-parts/exhausts/car-body-parts-and-car-exhaust/lambda-sensor/?710770411&1&d579aaafabbcdc8693400a4676b407313ef3a31a&000210
Ekona
It will, but you'll need to put it together yourself. Speak to the traders on here first, they'll get you the correct one that's plug and play
Declangibbs
Not too fussed about assembling it together, can't be that hard spoke to Nissan today and even they don't understand the "P" suffix. he also advised me it's a post cat sensor, I thought it was pre cat? Ekona
Maybe, I always thought that B2S1 would be the pre-cat one, and B2S2 would be post-cat.
Declangibbs
That's the impression I was under
