Lol it has the same weight and dimensions as me!

I'd love a real tank.

Was reading about one that survived a nuclear detonation. Was 500 metres from the epicentre and survived pretty much intact minus some cosmetic damage. Was in service for quite some time after. Old WW2 British tank.

This challenger is real good. Thumbs up.

The tank was in service after being within 500m of a nuclear blast? How is that even possible? A friend of mine worked at a nuclear facility and told me of busses which were exposed to radiation and now live encased within concrete to avoid any exposure.

It was also pretty serious should a seagull poop on you having sat on a chimney. Radioactive poop. Geiger counter comes out.

Actually, the majority of the nuclear fallout is in the soil and all the other bits and pieces that get thrown up. Things that easily absorb radiation. The more dense the material the harder it is for radiation to penetrate. Lead, etc.

Ground Zero of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for example have no lingering radiation.

I'm pretty sure a tank wouldn't survive a Hydrogen bomb though.

12 of the 16 mechanics who worked on stripping the tank died of cancer. If somebody told me they would pay me immense amounts to recover that tank after that test, I would tell them where to stick it. I wonder how long the two man recovery team lasted after exposure. Interesting read though!

Is it bad that it doesn't weigh more than me? Big boned. That's what it is.

Depends how tall you are I'd guess, ...if you're only 4ft tall then you're in trouble. :scare::surrender::lol:

Although muscle weighs more than fat remember so maybe you're just really muscly. :teeth:

It's an odd one, as the tank was found to be fairly uncontaminated.

And hey, 100% of my family that's passed away has been due to the big casino and not one of them has been anywhere near a glow in the dark tank. :)

Very cool. B)

How does the smoker work then?

Is it liquid based, ...I assume it's like an oil burning off then of some description is it. :)

Hi Buddy......believe it or not but the smoker runs on....BABY OIL ! Smokes perfectly....and smells kinda nice lol has a heating elament fitted and all you do is top it up :) You can buy the proper oil but the Baby oil works just as well and a lot cheaper ! A good tip for anyone running a smoke unit on any scale sized tank

Awesome video buddy! Finally gotten round to watching it, really does show the weight of these vehicles :D Thought Id dig out the old youtube collection, really scary to think some of these were 10 years ago!

This was my 1/8th scale panther which was litterally rescued from Marks field!

And my 1/16th king tiger which was built by my myself and weathered by a chap up in Scotland! Parcel force lost it in the post for two weeks

Hi Buddy, wow your Tanks are superb ! and you certainly know your stuff to have built that amazing PZ11 ! some real good skills there bud and luv the Videos. I'm sure Armortek do one. I had a 1/8 scale Abrams from Mark 1 Tanks but had to sell it on to help fund the Challenger !

The M.O.D actually owned this Abrams and they used it to help train tank crew on where to position your tank. It had a frame fitted to it with a video camera on ! The M.O.D had two of them and when they finished with them a guy rescued, and refurbished them to there current spec......here's a pic of the state of it when he got them
