Rob350
As youve all read many times no doubt... I have p0430 or 420.. cat below efficiency... A couple of mechanics suggested cataclean to see if it it clears the light even for a few days so i could at least have a good educated guess that my cat is dead.. Anyone used it?? Or reccomend it or avoid it??
Ekona
No worse than a bottle of Redex. Won't do any harm, but also I don't expect it to work miracles either. If you're going to use anything, you want one of the aerosols you spray into the intake post-MAF whilst someone keeps the engine ticking over to 2K rpm: That stuff clears A LOT of crap out of teh system, you'll see clouds of black smoke billowing down the street! I used to use the 10K Boost stuff, but it doesn't look like you can get it any more sadly.
Jay84
Halfrauds do an £85 treatment where they fill the cats with an expanding foam. They go in through the 02 sensor port, leave it to soak, then blow it out. I used it on my my new hfc's before fitting them and a lot of crap blew out. Looks like this... Rather than having a cleaning agent that becomes active after combustion, its soaks into and cleans the cats directly.
