Mike k-g
Why would you wanna strip out the boot just to make it bigger? are you a fisherman?
nissanjuke
I like going away the weekend with my wife and dog, need the space for bags etc.
nissanjuke
as I said stripped out the boot, what a load of wasted space. I just popped all the poppers on each panel, then pulled them off. all tools can be easily stored behind the seats where there is a hollow , just take out the foam filler brick. Keep all the velcrow straps so you can stick them to your bodywork with d/sided tape and attach all your tools. You only have to move wires on passenger side and alarm box. There is no insulation in the back of these cars, so my next job is line the boot with insulation. Will post when I do this, but here pictures with stuff I removed and the empty boot. nissanjuke
took off the burger badges front and back, was very easy, I invested in a cheap heat gun at £20 so with heat gun in hand and a plastic trim tool easily removed.
nissanjuke
Put insulating felt down. got 2m x 2m piece of ebay. cut 1m x 1m to lay down first. then put 1 sheet of floor insulation down, with hole cut for centre thread. then used the balance to do final insulation. Next step will be to lay carpet/fit lights and put panels back.
getshawty
Very nice car there mate. I didn't realise with all the boot plastics out that it was that big. How is it when driving now your have put the insulation in the boot, does it stop the road noise. That's a really good idea. I like your wheel colour, it looks almost shadow chrome. I see you have Vredestein tyres, iv had some put on 3 weeks ago but haven't driven it yet. Yellow z ftw, í ½í±Ší ½í±
getshawty
And iv just noticed your brakes, Drilled and grooved. I think that'll have to be my next job. Like it.
nissanjuke
I have found no difference in the loudness of noise,in fact I would say its a wee bit quieter, and it has given more room as this is my weekend away car. rear tyres grip well so far so good. nissanjuke
put the carpet down in car . used the heavy duty black carpet to cover the tool area behind seats, just added a bit of velcrow to secure matt. panels still to be cleaned up before fixing back. going for the two tone black/yellow look. getshawty
After seeing your thread here, I had the boot carpet up today and I never realised there's so much space that's just filled with those big foam blocks things that don't really do anything apart from take space up.
